All users must have the rights to imagery submissions, strictly adhering to copyright law. Reporter reserves the right to change the imagery to fit the ethical standards of the magazine.
Designers must be RIT students or staff.
Designers must submit files as soon as possible. The maximum allotted time-period is eight hours but earlier submissions will make for a better overall piece at the end. There is an exception on the time limit for over-night periods.
Designers must submit both a final file for print and a production file for the next designer.
A final file would be either a flattened TIFF (if made in Photoshop with rasterized images) or a PDF with outlined type.
A production file would be a PSD (if made in Photoshop with rasterized images) or a PDF wih outlined type is also considered a production file (so if you give us one PDF that is all we need).
Everything must be in CMYK mode and 300 dpi and the canvas size needs to be 8.5 inches by 10.75 inches.
If the above rules are not followed, the designer will be skipped and the next designer in line will be notified.

TIFF format (Photoshop > save as)
CMYK if color, grayscale if not (Photoshop > mode)
300 dpi (Photoshop > image size)
Flattened layers (Photoshop > layers / flatten)
[edit] Steps
1. Sign up below.
2. Wait for an email.
3. Once called on, you will receive an email with a production file of the previous design (either a PSD or PDF).
4. You then have eight hours MAX to complete the next design (with exceptions for overnight).
5. Zip a folder (on a mac: control click > create archive, on a PC: right click > send to > compressed zipped folder) with a production file (PSD with rasterized text or PDF with outlined text) and a flattened version (if using rasterized imagery > flattened TIFF).
So in this zipped folder, you send either A) a PDF or B) a PSD and TIFF.
6. Upload zipped file to http://yousendit.com, http://rapidshare.com, http://megaupload.com, or http://zshare.net.
7. Email the URL to crowdsourcing@reportermag.com.
