Charity Baseball Event That Lead To A Dead Congressman

Virginia Police have confirmed that several people have been shot and injured after a man opened fire at a charity ball training practice in Alexandria.

It took place at around 7:30 AM, in the Del Ray neighbourhood of Alexandria, and shockingly hit a few Congressional Republicans which included the North Virginia whip Steve Scalise, who suffered a shot in the hip, and one of his aides.

According to Washington Post, two Capitol police officers were also reported to have been shot.

It’s believed that the suspect is now in custody, whilst the victims are being transported to the neighbouring hospitals.

One of the witnesses, Rep. Mo Brooks, commented on a televised interview on CNN:

I hear a loud ‘bam’ and I look around and behind third base … I see a rifle, and I see a little bit of a body and then I hear another ‘bam’ and I realize there’s still an active shooter. At the same time I hear Steve Scalise over at second base scream — he was shot.

He also added that he heard around 50 to 100 shots that were fired.

The victim, Steve, was reportedly been airlifted to hospital.

Police are questioning members of the public if they saw anything, and to stay away from the area.
