Two of RIT's own, senior forwards Matt Smith
and Simone Lambert, have signed contracts to
play hockey professionally.

Smith signed with the South Carolina Stingrays,
part of the East Coast Hockey League, back in
March. He made his first appearance in a professional
game on March 2, 2008. He has two
shots on goal. Smith's career at RIT was a strong
one with 62 goals and 51 assists. Even further,
Smith's 44 power-play goals are tied with the
most in the history of the men's hockey...

RIT's Hockey Season Ends

The men's hockey team fell to Air Force 5-0 in what was described
as an "abrupt end to the season" by RIT Head Coach
Wayne Wilson. Air Force took the lead early in the game with
one goal scored by the end of the first period. Brennan Sarazin,
a third year left wing, crashed the net late in the first period,
only to be stopped by Air Force's goalie Andrew Volkening in
one of RIT's best attempts at scoring.

Despite a brief mid-second period RIT rally, with an RIT power-play advantage

George Breaks Three Records as Tigers Crush Keuka

Matt George, fourth year Applied Statistics
major and second baseman for RIT's
baseball team, broke three records at a
double header against Keuka, Tuesday,
April 29. The Tigers performed well as
a team in this series, besting Keuka 13-1
in the first game and 14-3 in the second.

In particular, George stood out at
this match-up. He stole his 43rd career
base in the second game, breaking
a school record of 42 stolen
bases set by Troy McBride in 1994.
George stole a total of three...

Lacrosse has been a life-long endeavor for fourth
year Andrew Ruocco. "In the town I'm from,
Corning, NY, you pretty much grow up with a
stick in your hand," said Ruocco, who started
playing at the age of six. Ruocco described Corning
as "lacrosse land," its devotion stemming
from a strong high school program.

"When I came in as a freshman, I had the opportunity
to step into a pretty important role," told
Ruocco of his arrival on the RIT team. Ruocco

always come naturally "I've been
running since I was little. I continued
in high school. Now, basically all
I do is run." When she was younger,
competing in her local "Children's
Summer Track" team provided her
with a fun pastime. In high school,
it became a means for her to stay in
shape. However, further down the
line, running became something
much more. "I'm just a competitive
person," Perez says.

Surprisingly, Perez admitted that she

Tryt began playing

Glenn Burke, former Major League Baseball (MLB) player for the Los Angeles Dodgers and
Oakland Athletics from 1976 to 1979, was touted as the next Willie Mays by many scouts
as he started his baseball career. He is said to have invented the high five. Burke was also
the first openly gay man in MLB during his professional career, presenting him with difficulties
which eventually caused him to leave professional sports permanently at the age
of 27. Burke wrote in his autobiography, Out at...

to RIT's baseball team. All regular
season games were cancelled thus far,
including a recent postponed doubleheader
against St. John Fisher. Undeterred,
the team eagerly continues to
prepare for their first season game. Senior second

in their season opener. RIT was down 2-6 at
halftime. Another unanswered point in the
second half would have been disastrous. Goalie

we saw commercials for the local
